The Miami Children’s Museum Not So Scary Family Halloween Bash!

Once again, the Miami Children’s Museum is bringing Halloween’s most fun event to South Florida! The annual Not So Scary Family Halloween Bash, co-chaired by Michal & Adam Kuperstein and Kelly & Chris Melchiondo, will be held on Sunday, October 15 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Guests will trick or treat around the Museum’s galleries, brave the Haunted House, test their knowledge in the Mad Scientist Lab, create crazed crafts including pumpkin decorating and a special area to decorate sugar skulls! This year the Museum has added a new toddler area including a variety of sensory bins featuring pumpkin insides and fake spider webs, block play and an area for story time and music play led by the Museum’s Theater Troupe.

Last night in Miami Beach Ocean Drive magazine and Ricky Martin, the glossies October issue cover star and multi award-winning actor, singer, activist and Puerto Rico native was joined by partners INFINITI and W South Beach to celebrate the new issue as well as raise crucial funds for hurricane victims in Puerto Rico.  Recognized as one of the most beloved performers and humanitarians, Ricky was joined by his fiancé Jwan Yosef, the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Jared Shapiro and Publisher, Courtland Lantaff along with VIPs and leading tastemakers including the Mayor of Miami Beach Philip Levine and more than 200 philanthropists and tastemakers in giving back to the victims in Puerto Rico of Hurricane Maria and Hurricane Irma. The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story star opened up to Ocean Drive in a candid interview inside the October issue about what fatherhood means to him, returning to Miami to play such an important role in the life and death of Gianni Versace and the inspiration behind creating the Ricky Martin Foundation.  Funds raised at the invitation-only event were collected through the Ricky Martin Foundation. In addition to INFINITI and W South Beach several Miami-based businesses supported the event through the donation of silent auction packages including hotel stays, luxury items and epicurean dinners. Guests enjoyed the sounds of DJ Rascal, DJ Iron Lyon and DJ Liveitup while sampling savory hors d’oeuvres and specialty cocktails by 1888 Rum.

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s fall fundraising event, PHeaSt, moves outdoors this year for a delicious, moonlit celebration in the PHS Pop Up Garden at 15th and South Streets on Friday, October 6, from 7 to 10 p.m. The new “PHeaSt on South” will offer exciting dishes and drinks created by some of the city’s most talented chefs and mixologists, and live musical entertainment in the beautiful garden setting. The exclusive VIP experience at 6 p.m. will feature the mixologists of the Aqua Vitae Institute, who will teach guests how to conjure a unique love potion – a captivating cocktail that blends sour and sweet and a little bitter. The VIP experience also includes reserved seating and free valet parking. Miami Cares for Puerto Rico

Together with Haute Living, Michael Capponi, Global Empowerment Mission and Karla Dascal, wellness entrepreneur and founder of the Sacred Space Miami, are uniting the city with a “Miami Cares for Puerto Rico” fundraising event at The Sacred Space Miami on Thursday, October 5th, 2017. 10th Annual International Dermatology It’s All About the Kids 

Friends of St. Jude (FOSJ) Miami, the young professionals group dedicated to raising awareness and funding for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, is hosting its 10th Annual International Dermatology It’s All About the Kids signature event, presented by the Andrés Asion Foundation. The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 30 at the Eden Roc Miami Beach. FOSJ will be recognizing community activist and philanthropist, Wendy Grant, with the “Stephan Gutierrez Award.” The event will feature a tasting menu and cocktails, as well as entertainment by Cuban music sensation, Jacob Forever.
