Whether or not you are a science buff, the soon-to-be-open Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science will be one place you don’t want to miss. If the Galaxy Gala, the museum’s annual fundraiser was any indication, the lights, sounds, and over-the-top experiences the museum is sure to offer must be seen to be believed. Just ask any of the 1,200 guests who gathered at the Hilton Miami Downtown on the evening of Saturday, April 18 to raise over $1 million for Miami’s new science museum. This year’s theme was “Aqua Lumière.” Hosted by Chief Meteorologist John Morales of NBC 6 South Florida, the dynamic evening celebrated the playful and scientific interaction of light and water, and featured a water and light interactive graffiti experience by French artist Antonin Fourneau- reminiscent of the Lite Bright that kept many of us hyper kids entertained for hours. Trendy fashion label, Armani Exchange hosted an intimate dinner to celebrate the launch of the Armani Exchange “White Edition” Collection at the Soho Beach House on Tuesday, April 21. Attendees included: The Fashion Poet, Annie Vazquez; Ashley Brozic, Kathy Buccio, Julia Ford-Carther, Virginia Gil, Katrina McLaughlin, and Stacey Russell, among others.

The evening began with a cocktail hour and passed hors d’oeuvres followed by a sit down candlelight dinner with an Italian inspired menu on the penthouse terrace. The dinner ended with limoncello and espresso.

The White Edition Collection was displayed using white props in the interior of the penthouse with an ocean backdrop. In a restrained palette of crisp whites, this curated collection focuses on breezy silhouettes, airy fabrics, and knit textures that pair easily back to one another. #AXWhiteEdition. One of the most highly anticipated hotel openings of the year took place on Wednesday, March 25, as the stylish and luxurious1 Hotel South Beach, opened its doors and celebrated with a 100/1 Event: a private rooftop party hosted by Barry Sternlicht, founder of Starwood Capital Group; Richard LeFrak, CEO of LeFrak; and Robert Sillerman, founder of SFX Entertainment.

Attendees included top influencers within fashion, entertainment and elected officials including: Tommy and Dee Hilfiger, Paris Hilton, DJ Bob Sinclar, DJ Paul Oakenfold, Miami Beach Mayor Phillip Levine, nightlife impresario brothers Daniel and Derek Koch; and restaurateur/chef and Bravo television personality Tom Colicchio, proprietor of Beach Craft, 1 Hotel South Beach’s signature eatery, which will open later this month. Known for being the most fun you can have at an art museum, the Bass Museum of Art’s Night at the Museum on March 11, enthralled 450 art enthusiasts with its Film Noir Experience. The museum’s annual fundraiser had guests dressed to the nines in creative attire, welcoming them with dramatic Hollywood premiere-style searchlights and a red carpet upon arrival. Once inside, partygoers enjoyed touring the galleries that had been transformed into misty streetscapes and retro lounges, featuring projections of classic Hollywood crime dramas in keeping with the Film Noir motif. Guess had a blast striking poses for the “Best Film Noir Photo” contest. The winners – WPBT’s Art Loft host Kayln James and husband, TV producer Rico James, took home a basket of GREY GOOSE Vodka in six flavors and Montecristo cigars. The 14^th annual Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF) presented by FOOD & WINEwelcomed more than 60,000 enthusiastic foodies to more than 75 different events throughout South Florida in February. To date, the Festival has raised approximately $22 million for the Wine Spectator Restaurant Management Laboratory and Southern Wine & Spirits Beverage Management Center at the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management located on Florida International University’s Biscayne Bay campus.   Below, we’ve highlighted some of our favorite events of SOBEWFF 2015.
