The innovative minds behind Novecento® locations in Brickell, Key Biscayne and Aventura, have teamed up with entrepreneur Alejandro Ferllen to create a unique, dual-hospitality concept at Midtown Miami. Novecento Midtown is an authentic, cosmopolitan Argentinian steakhouse, which resides adjacent to its café/bar sister property, it® Espresso Lounge. A new approach to the coffee break, it® Espresso Lounge features mixologist-designed cocktails, artisanal coffee and seasonal light bites. The lounge stylishly ushers day into night with sounds coming from its iconic 1959 Fiat® Cinquecento DJ booth.
Located directly on Buena Vista Avenue in the heart of Midtown Miami, and overlooking the central town-square fountain and it lush sculpture garden, Novecento Midtown spans 5,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space that accommodates 200 guests.
Happy Hour takes place daily at both Novecento Steakhouse and it Lounge from 5-8 p.m. and features $5.00 beers, $5.00 Prosecco, $8.00 cocktails along with a selected menu priced at $3.00, $5.00 and $8.00. Additionally, it Espresso Lounge will be offering a late night menu until 3:00 a.m.
It Espresso Lounge becomes a delightful discovery of chic Italian lifestyle paired with Latin American flair. Its creative use of 5,000 square feet (both indoor and outdoor) comfortably accommodates 200 guests. The venue’s “convertible concept” is what takes it from artisanal espresso bar by day to mixologist cocktail lounge by night. The playful space features an original 1959 Fiat® Cinquecento that has been repurposed as an eye-catching DJ booth/car to be driven by both resident and guest DJs seven days a week; Backstage, a VIP area behind the Fiat®, offers 10 dedicated tables designed for bottle service or intimate cocktailing and an outdoor Grey Goose® bar. Boasting a different design vocabulary that’s “retro-chic” (sexy and feminine yet strong, unapologetically decadent and avant-garde). it® Espresso Lounge nods to 1960’s fashion. it® Espresso Lounge is Mr. Ferllen’s personal endeavor and something incredible he felt that he could bring to the Midtown area. Ferllen is the driving force behind the entire concept – décor direction, food & drink offerings, music programming and daily nightlife conversion – enlightened by his vast experience as the creative visionary behind Segafredo® and its locations in Brickell, Bal Harbour, Espanola Way and South Pointe.
“We are incredibly excited for Novecento Midtown and it Espresso Lounge to integrate with the most exciting neighborhoods in America. When we purchased this space over two years ago, we were confident there was an opportunity to not only bring a great steakhouse concept, but to also provide long-overdue entertainment and lifestyle programming to Midtown,” co-owner Alejandro Ferllen said. “Hector would have been absolutely overjoyed to see how special our Midtown location turned out.” (Mr. Ferllen’s last statement addresses the tragic passing of Hector Rolotti, founder and owner of Novecento®, who drowned during an annual spiritual retreat in India on March 22, 2014.)
Great food, conceived and executed by Chef Gabriel Medici, will be at the center of both Novecento® Midtown and it® Espresso Lounge. Novecento offerings include: Crimini Mushroom E Fontina with shallots, truffle oil, and parsley; Red Snapper Tiradito with red snapper yuzu-white soy, jalapeño tempura, and tortilla salt; Burrata Tropicale with fresh Burrata, heirloom tomatoes, mango, avocado and basil, and balsamic vinaigrette; Tortellini Di Zucca with butternut squash, truffled pinenuts, and mushrooms, as well as Scallops Black Risotto with seared scallops, black squid ink, and chives.
it Espresso Lounge will offer scrumptious fare such as Grilled Octopus with Prosciutto Ham, Crab Cake with mango salsa, avocado and tomatillo sauce; Tuna & Avocado Tortillas with cherry tomatoes, caviar, aioli and avocado emulsion; Ravioli Porcini with truffle cream sauce, pine nuts and beech mushrooms and Pavlova Cake with merengue, Chantilly, a touch of dulce de leche and mixed berries for dessert.
