Trey Songz Hosts Moet Rose Lounge

Singer/songwriter/actor, Trey Songz hosted a private party last Thursday night for 150 guests at the Setai penthouse, dubbed the Moët Rose Lounge for the evening. The handsome 23 year-old brought his mother as his date and together, they accepted a $5,000 check from Moet for Songz’s Angels with Heart foundation, toasted with guests and cut a three-tier chocolate cake.  The Foundation is Songz’s call to action for his fans to give back to their communities through random acts of kindness.

The otherwise subdued soiree was energized at around midnight, when Will Smith showed up.  Smith, who is working on Men In Black III to be released in May 2012 was also reportedly spotted at Prime 112 and Fontainebleau over the weekend.

Jill Martin and Dana Ravich Book Signing

On Friday evening, the Soho Beach House was the setting for Emmy-winning TV personality Jill Martin and stylist, Dana Ravich’s ironically titled I Have Nothing to Wear book signing party, where a stylish gaggle of ladies, who have too much to wear, converged in the library for a presentation about eliminating closet clutter by Martin and Ravich.  Jean experts from Not Your Daughter’s Jeans (NYDJ) were on-hand to fit each guest with a perfect pair of jeans as Moet Imperial cocktails flowed.  Even more ironic than the book’s title were the scrumptious Stella’s Sweet Shop treats which tempted guests just after being fitted for their new jeans.

Pop Stars on the Moon

The most creative party of the week took place on Saturday night at Lords South Beach Hotel, where close to 100 guests, many decked out in their intergalactic best, traveled to outer space during the Pop Stars on the Moon, extravagant 25th birthday celebration for Joseph A. Quiñones of Miami magazine. The out-of-this world party was hosted by Quinones’ longtime boyfriend Gino R. Campodonico, a publicist at TARA, Ink., inside Loft 117 of the hotel, which was decorated with everything from space guns, to inflatable space shuttles to an almost life-sized moon and rocket.  Known locally as “GI.JOE,” Quinones and Campodonico  treated guests with cosmic performances by gender illusionists Nikki Wyte and Raveena Sapphire, sounds by and creative cocktails featuring sparkling Perrier and Moon Pies and  Pop Rocks, what else?

Zoe Saldana and FIAT 500 host Colombiana Premiere After Party at Soho Beach House

Zoe Saldana Brings her Revenge – Colombiana Style

On Monday night Zoe Saldana brought her “revenge” to Miami Beach by walking the red carpet for the premiere of her new film Colombiana at the Regal Theater on Lincoln Road.  The Puerto Rican/Dominican actress, who plays a Colombian in the movie, looked beautiful as usual, wearing an embellished gold and ivory Balmain dress (cut down to “there”) paired with black Zanotti heels, although some might argue that the Avatar star looks better in blue.

After the movie screening, Saldana and Fiat 500 hosted the official after-party on the 8th floor of Soho Beach House with VIP guests including Christina Ferrari, Marko Jaric, Michael Gongora, and Max Pierre to name a few.  Saldana mingled with guests while presenting sponsor, Fiat revealed its new mini-vehicle, the car-maker’s answer to the Mini Cooper.

Angels and Zuckerman

The stars of Charlie’s Angels came out to support photographer Robert Zuckerman at the opening of a retrospective of his work at The Betsy Hotel. Guests enjoyed Prosecco and hors d’oeuvres from the hotel’s acclaimed BLT Steak restaurant while admiring Zuckerman’s iconic celebrity portraits as well as selections for the Time Machine and KINDSIGHT series. Rachael Taylor and Ramon Rodriguez, from the upcoming Charlie’s Angels series, attended the cocktail, as did Miami Dade County Public Schools’ superintendent Alberto Carvalho.  The photographs will be on display through the end of December.
