Haiti Means Business at the Soho Beach House

Irie Weekend
Miami’s own DJ Irie will be his hosting his 7th Annual three-day, action-packed charity weekend from June 23 through June 25. The 2011 Irie Weekend presented by SugarTime Sports will commence Thursday night with an exclusive kick-off party at Mokai, which will be transformed into the Crown Royal Black Lounge. On Friday, June 24, is the golfing event- a celebrity golf tournament at the Melreese Country Club where Irie and New Era will make a special announcement. That night, Irie will host a welcome concert at LIV nightclub powered by Verizon, Heineken and Premier Beverages before taking over Arkadia pool and lounge on Saturday afternoon, alongside New Era. This year DJ Irie is pleased to announce the creation of his own charity, the Irie Foundation- which will be on the receiving end of all of the proceeds raised throughout the weekend. Calling all competitive eaters! Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill, the restaurant and bar specializing in good food, good drinks and good times, invites everyone from novice to professional food eaters to enter its BURGER BATTLE eating contest on Wednesday, June 29, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Smokey Bone’s BURGER BATTLE is offering this culinary consumption competition in honor of its new build-your-own burger menu launching early June 2011. BURGER BATTLE is accepting 40 to 70 entries at each location. The fee for participation is $10, with $2 of the proceeds being donated to Homes for Our Troops, a non-profit organization dedicated to building specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans.
