CelebThis past Friday Ryan Phillippe was spotted at Hyde Beach at the SLS South Beach, with new girlfriend, Paulina Slagter.  The couple cuddled and sipped Don Julio on the rocks.  He was interacting with guests as they took pictures and seen laughing and enjoying time with friends. 

While he may not be at the World Cup, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, is considered one of the world’s best soccer players.  The Swedish soccer star had dinner with his wife and kids at Meat Market over the weekend. 

On Sunday night, rapper 2Chainz hosted a party at LIV nightclub and performed several of his recently released songs to a packed crowd. After his performance, he was spotted hanging out with his crew on stage and sipping on a bottle of Moet Nectar Imperial Rose. Other celebrities in attendance included singer Tank and boxer Floyd Mayweather who purchased over 70 bottles of Moet Nectar Imperial Rose for his group 

Last week, Mike Tyson was spotted at Maxine’s Bistro & Bar in the Catalina Hotel at 5 a.m. in the morning. Tyson stopped by for some late night (early morning) eats and was reportedly extremely friendly and took pictures with the management and staff of the restaurant. Tyson was in town for the Miami Heat playoffs and told the staff he would definitely return to Maxine’s because he “loved the food so much.”

Journey of Hope 

On June 6, a crowd of more than 300 philanthropists gathered for the 2014 Miami Man and Woman of the Year Journey of Hope Gala ​hosted by the Southern Florida and Puerto Rico Chapters of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) at the InterContinental Miami Hotel. The celebration was the culmination of The Man and Woman of the Year campaign:  a 10-week program to raise funds to help find cures for blood cancers. The campaign recruited candidates in the community who agreed to conduct their own fundraising efforts to compete to earn the coveted title: Man or Woman of the Year. Each candidate was judged solely on his/her success in raising money, each dollar counting as one vote, running in honor of the Boy and Girl of the Year, who are local blood cancer patient survivors, known for inspiring others.  Read the rest here »

Irie Weekend

Macchialina’s Bar Takeover

Miami Spice Mash-Up

The 13th Annual Miami Spice Restaurant Program (August & September 2014) is just around the corner and to kick-start the celebration the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) is launching a series of special Miami Spice Mash-Ups, chef collaborations at which each chef will preview select dishes from their upcoming Spice menus.The first of three Mash-Ups will take place on Wednesday, June 25Chef Brad Kilgore of J&G Grill at St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort will host visiting Chef Jose Mendin of the Pubbelly family of restaurants.  Together, the two will serve a six course meal previewing menu items from their respective Miami Spice menus.  The meal will finish with a duo of desserts, one from Mendin the other from J&G’s pastry chef, Antonio Bachour.  Seating is limited to 40 attendees; reservations must be made in advance and can be done so by calling 305.993.3333.  Price: $65 per person, including a complimentary cocktail featuring Botran Rum(excluding tax, tip and alcohol).  Destinations and chef line-ups for July and September Mash-Ups will be released at a later date.  J&G Grill is located at the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort. Guests were dressed to impress as 43 chefs from around the country cooked for a cause at Vetri’s 9th annual Great Chef’s Event at the Philadelphia Navy Yard on June 10, 2014.  The event surpassed their goal and raised $1 million for two charities, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and The Vetri Foundation for Children.   More than 1,200 guests were in attendance, sampling bites, imbibing in great spirits, and bidding on silent and live auction items.

The live auction alone raised $80,000.00.  Notable speakers at the event included School District of Philadelphia Superintendent Dr. William R. Hite Jr. describing the work of the Vetri Foundation and  Liz and Jay Scott, Alex’s parents and Co-Executive Directors of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

In conjunction with the FIFA World Cup 2014, McDonald’s has changed the look of its iconic red French fry packaging globally with bold, new artwork to celebrate the upcoming soccer event. In addition, the new fry boxes will be the key to “unlocking” a new app “McDonald’s GOL!” that will reward French fry loving patrons with an engaging, virtual trick-shot challenge. The app will be compatible with most Android and Apple mobile devices and will be available for download in the Google Play store and Apple App Store™.

 

The redesign will treat customers and futbol fans with an exclusive collection of original street art that reflects the beauty and passion of the game of futbol. Twelve artists from around the world were chosen to create the special new designs, which will canvas McDonald’s Medium and Large fry boxes in the majority of company-owned and franchised restaurants worldwide.
