Tucked away in the quaint, historic, Buena Vista neighborhood, is The District, a stylish new authentic Pan American restaurant, helmed by Managing Partner Alexander Ringleb, behind well-known restaurants such as Casa Tua in Miami, and our favorites in New York: Balthazar and Pastis and Partner/Executive Chef, Argentine born, Horacio Rivadero, who previously worked under the direction of 4 Diamond award-winning chef, Douglas Rodriguez. After sampling Rivadero’s flavorful creations, it comes as no surprise that the Argentine chef was voted Food and Wine magazine’s 2012 “Best New Chef for the Gulf Region.”

The Pan American menu that Rivadero has created for The District, is comprised of fresh, local ingredients and designed to “embody the true essence of a blend of cultures.“ This is exemplified throughout the menu, with dishes from North, South and Central America and the Caribbean. The chef’s favorites such as the Afro-Cuban: slow roasted marble pork shoulder, will surprise and delight even Cuban-American guests who have grown up preparing and eating some of the best pork dishes this side of the island. The Ceviches on the menu pack a punch of flavors as does The Boxer- a dish of grilled cast iron pork belly, creamy farro, and mushrooms. On the healthier side, but no less tasty, are the Beets & Beets: oven roasted golden and red beets, watercress, almonds, raspberries, goat cheese mousse and the Lobster Malanga Taco. You will most definitely be craving these dishes long after your visit. We would be remiss in not mentioning the warm Pan de Bono, a piping-hot, gooey, cheesy concoction that is generously served with creamy butter or the decadent desserts, such as the Black Magic: semi-sweet chocolate mousse, marshmallows, chocolate ganache, sweet potato vanilla bean drizzle or the 4-Leches Parfait with Macadamia nuts, vanilla caramelized pineapples, and Italian merengue.
According to Ringleb, “The District Miami is more than just a restaurant, we are your home and guests are part of our family. This philosophy is the reason why we built The District Miami. We know that outstanding service, great food and an inviting atmosphere are hard to come by in Miami. With The District Miami we wanted to introduce something new and different, in a neighborhood that has a long-standing history in our community. We combined three key ingredients- Chef Horacio Rivadero’s sumptuous Pan-American cuisine, an extraordinary team of family members and a warm home- which makes each visit an extraordinary guest experience. Welcome to The District Miami: A Cultural Taste of The Americas.”

With its chic, inviting décor, exceptional, service, friendly staff and unique menu, The District hits the mark and exceeds Ringleb’s expectations.
