In a motivating and captivating presentation, which included Lion Dancers, celebrity performances and fireworks, Market America’s founders, JR and Loren Ridinger detailed the company’s recent acquisition of SHOP.COM ( before 22,000 enthusiastic attendees at Market America’s  World Conference on February 3- which coincided with the Chinese New Year (ergo the Lion Dancers) . 

The purchase is a part of the company’s “Bigger, Better, Faster, Easier”Loren Ridinger, Welcoming the crowd to the 2011 Market America World Conference campaign – a move to rival and change the way people shop.  At the conference, JR – who addressed the audience with the passion and charisma of a preacher before his congregation, alluded to the David and Goliath story when comparing Market America’s competition with Amazon.  The crowd roared as JR professed, “But remember, David won.”

Loren Ridinger, who was born to be  on stage, introduced Senior Vice President, Marc Ashley, Chief Operating Officer, Steve Ashley, VP of Internet Marketing and members of SHOP.COM and highlighted the new integration strategy which combines Market America’s people power with SHOP.COM’s technology (and 7,000,000 users).  She explained how the acquisition is a “total game changer” for the internet shopping world. “Since the

 December announcement of the acquisition, Market America has seen a 60 percent increase in site traffic and a 30 percent increase in revenues while SHOP.COM has experienced double the amount of traffic compared to the same time frame last year. In addition, over 23 million Twitter messages have been generated about the acquisition including many by well known celebrities,” Loren exclaimed. Each point was accentuated by Taio Cruz’s song, Dynamite, which coincided with the launching of fireworks- resulting in the audience standing up and “throwing their hands up in the air.”  It’s safe to say that the Ridinger’s “lit it up,” as the song says.

Celebrity supporters of Market America’s success who attended the conference, included Desperate Housewives actress, Eva Longoria; 19-time Grammy Award winning artist, Alejandro Sanz;  tennis all-star Serena Williams; basketball great, Scottie Pippen; Tracy Mourning, Fat Joe, Sammi Giancola and Katrina Campins.
