The Society Literary Salon

The Society Literary Salon featuring Vogue contributor/Huffington Post columnist and author Lesley Blume’s latest book Let’s Bring Back took place at the library of the Soho House last Thursday, to celebrate the book launch.  Blume’s most recent work presents “a sophisticated, stylish cultural encyclopedia of nostalgia celebrating forgotten objects, curiosities, pastimes, fashions, words, landmarks, and personae from bygone eras.”

Blume took the stage with Thom Collins, Director of Miami Art Museum, to provide an engaging and insightful Q & A about the various spirited historical art movements that should return to Miami.  During the gathering, Zacapa Rum surprised guests with a champagne tower (one of the items highlighted Blume’s book) but with a special twist—a Ron Zacapa Rum Champagne Cocktail named “Ode to Blume.” Notables in attendance included: Marcella Novela, Susie and Walid Wahab, Bette Ann Schlossberg, Zac Courtney, John Lin, and Michael Cohen.

The Society is a virtual culture club for the creative class in New York City, Toronto and  Miami with a satellite chapter in Los Angeles- much like the Soho House except without brick and mortar.  The Society’s goal is to make culture a relevant and approachable luxury for its members by creating a calendar of cultural activities and events designed to educate, entertain and enlighten.
