Chotto Matte- Nikkei Cuisine in a Lively Space

For a spirited evening under the stars, visit Chotto Matte on Lincoln Road, the London-based award-winning, restaurant’s first location in the United States. Featuring Nikkei cuisine (in which flavors from Japan and Peru are infused), the restaurant boasts a robata grill, sushi bar and open-air dining room.

The dining room is lively and bustling, with colorful murals and lush foliage. The bar takes center stage and serves creative concoctions as well as all the usual favorites.
 
Founded by Kurt Zdesar and his London-based hospitality group, NZR, the company has appointed corporate executive chef Jordan Sclare and executive chef Jimmy Gallagher, to create the restaurant’s innovative menus and oversee the kitchen. Now open for lunch, dinner and happy hour, the restaurant serves a variety of robata grill dishes; sushi/sashimi, ceviches, tempuras, sautéed items and other specialty small-plated items. Guests can also choose from four different prix-fixe tasting menus that range from $50 – $85 per person. As for the dessert and drink menus, they too are inspired by Peruvian and Japanese signature items.

The expansive and lush 219-seat restaurant boasts a large floating ceiling with a fully retractable roof, a 19-ton Sicilian boulder between the sushi bar and cocktail area, plenty of tropical trees, steel, tinted glass, dark stained wood accents, and a massive colorful mural.
