chopThe Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia launches the 2015 Daisy Days Campaign, a month-long fundraising effort in May involving a variety of events and volunteers of all ages.  Daisy Days began more than a half century ago, where volunteers sold daisies on Philadelphia’s street corners to raise money for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. This spring, Daisy Days will again celebrate its Philadelphia history and the community that so passionately supports CHOP, inspired this year by fashion partner Lilly Pulitzer.

 

CHOP Daisy Days Highlights:

Lilly Pulitzer® custom-designed Murfee scarf goes on sale May 1. This limited-edition printed scarf features a unique handpainted daisy print in signature Lilly Pulitzer brights – sapphire, teal and yellow – in a silk and cashmere blend. Can you find the hidden “Lilly loves CHOP” in the print?  This exclusive item will be available to the public on Friday, May 1st at exclusively at www.CHOPDaisyDays.org and at the Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival. The scarf retails for $118 and proceeds benefit CHOP.

“Hope Blooms Here” Fashion Show at CHOP featuring CHOP patients, presented by Lilly Pulitzer and hosted by 6abc’s Karen Rogers. As the official media sponsor of CHOP Daisy Days 2015, 6abc will capture this private fashion show as part of a 30-minute CHOP Daisy Days TV special to air on May 16 at 7:30pm. Open to media with credentials; scarf available for preview. 

May 2: Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival; CHOP booth celebrates Daisy Days. Booth located on the 1700 block of Walnut Street.

May 3: Blue Cross Broad Street runners can join Team DAISY by creating a CHOP fundraising page.

Philadelphia Mural Arts designs custom Daisy Days murals in parlor area of CHOP Main Lobby and the bridge connecting the Colket and Abramson Research Buildings to be on display for the month of May.

May 8: Lilly Pulitzer Shop & Share Day. Make a purchase at their locations in Suburban Square and the King of Prussia mall and 10% will be donated to CHOP.

May 9: Passyunk Shop & Share Day from 12pm to 7pm, featuring 20 stores along Passyunk Avenue. Retailers will donate a portion of proceeds to CHOP.

Tickets on Sale for Fifth Annual Burger Brawl

Tickets on sale for the Fifth Annual Burger Brawl! The Burger Brawl funds literacy programming through technology for Philadelphia’s underserved children in public elementary schools. The event has raised more than $500,000 in the last four years for the cause. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, June 14 at XFINITY Live. The King of Prussia Laundromat Grand Opening Party!

The King of Prussia Laundromat, a 3,400 square foot eco-friendly + energy sustainable laundromat, will be hosting its  GRAND OPENING party on May 9, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  It’s a  FREE three hours of  good, clean fun for families. Whether or not you are a science buff, the soon-to-be-open Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science will be one place you don’t want to miss. If the Galaxy Gala, the museum’s annual fundraiser was any indication, the lights, sounds, and over-the-top experiences the museum is sure to offer must be seen to be believed. Just ask any of the 1,200 guests who gathered at the Hilton Miami Downtown on the evening of Saturday, April 18 to raise over $1 million for Miami’s new science museum. This year’s theme was “Aqua Lumière.” Hosted by Chief Meteorologist John Morales of NBC 6 South Florida, the dynamic evening celebrated the playful and scientific interaction of light and water, and featured a water and light interactive graffiti experience by French artist Antonin Fourneau- reminiscent of the Lite Bright that kept many of us hyper kids entertained for hours.
