Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO) With a Little Help from my FriendsMISO_Beatles

The Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO), under the direction of Music Director and Conductor Eduardo Marturet, celebrates 50 years since the Beatles first touched down at Miami International Airport, on their way to their first American television appearance at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City.

A World Premiere arrangement of the Fab Four’s popular tune, With a Little Help from my Friends, by Maestro Eduardo Marturet, commemorates the Beatles’ music featuring select faculty from the New World School of the Arts that includes pianist Ciro Fodere, and Dean of Music and MISO Concertmaster Daniel Andai. Principal Trumpet and Artist-in-Residence Samuel Hyken presents one of his latest works, The Beatles Guide to the Orchestra, influenced by Benjamin Britten’s well-known composition, The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, where each of the various movements highlight the different sections of the orchestra. Peter Breiner’s Beatles Go Baroque is a creative piece filled with much-admired Beatles’ tunes in a style more suggestive of the lush Concerto Grosso’s by Bach, mixing symphonic music with some of the most influential rock music of all time.

Introducing the Make Your Own Peace Foundation, Miami Symphony will honor this historic moment with a special fundraising dinner at Seasalt and Pepper restaurant on Monday, November 17 at 8:00 p.m. Dinner, entertainment, and live auctions will take place for $500 per person, supporting MISO’s special programs that help teach and influence the children in South Florida’s inner city neighborhoods through the wonderful “gift of music.” RSVP to miso@seasaltmiami.com.
