Vera Wang Toasts Rebecca Moses Miami Exhibit with Vera Wang PARTY Prosecco Photo Credit: @loamismedia

On Thursday, 12/2, Vera Wang raised a glass of her new prosecco, Vera Wang PARTY, to her friend and fashion & art icon, Rebecca Moses in celebration of the opening of her new solo Miami exhibition Bubblegum, Lipstick, and Hope. Inside the walls of Ralph Pucci International, attendees including editor in chief of ELLE Decor Asad Syrkett, Donna Karan, Chris Lavish, Katya Tolstova and many more sipped on Vera Wang PARTY throughout the evening while enjoying music by Danilo de la Torre (adoradrag).

As guests entered the exhibit, in front of Moses’ impressive larger-than-life murals, they were greeted by an Italian ice cart for the debut of the new delightfully delicious premium ice cream collaboration between Vera Wang PARTY prosecco and Aubi & Ramsa – The Hibiscus Bellini Sorbet. Available for a limited time only HERE, this prosecco-infused treat boasts notes of hibiscus and rosehips for spoonfuls of well-balanced flavor with just a touch of sweetness.

Bubblegum, Lipstick, and Hope features 200 female portraits reflecting hope, passion, determination and the desire to stay true to one’s own voice even in the most challenging of times. The exhibit, which will be on display through December 9th, expands Moses’ signature style: connecting art and fashion. It is a world of fashionable delights, colorful dreams, bold  patterns, and stylish environments. Women holding their heads up high, putting on their best to champion themselves with dignity. There is no standard of beauty. Each remarkable woman is her own champion.

The embodiment of luxury, Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa, has recently embarked on an extensive, multimillion-dollar re-imagination to its social spaces, on the heels of its 8th anniversary.  It comes as no surprise that this oceanside retreat,  which offers a quintessential, modern Palm Beach experience, has earned the prestigious Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Award for six consecutive years. Situated on seven pristine oceanfront acres, among the most beautiful stretch of beach in Palm Beach, the resort features an underwater paradise- with snorkeling steps from the shore thanks to a huge coral reef which is home to  thousands of colorful tropical fish, an added bonus to the relaxed glamour that is the ethos of Eau Palm Beach. The resort combines oceanfront luxury with whimsical decor by Jonathan Adler, along with impeccable service and unexpected experiences, including al fresco dining at Breeze Ocean Kitchen, the island’s only oceanfront beach restaurant. The Bazaar by Jose Andrés

September heralds the end of summer and the beginning of football season, cozy evenings and PSLs. But it also affords foodies the opportunity to experience the menus at some of Miami’s top restaurants at a fraction of the cost thanks to Miami Spice. The swanky SLS hotel on Miami Beach currently offers the Miami Spice menu at its two top tier restaurants- The Bazaar by Jose Andres and Katsuya. Both offer the Miami Spice menu Sunday-Thursday evenings for just $42, exclusive of tax and gratuity.

The Bazaar by Jose Andres

From the moment you enter the expansive dining room at The Bazaar- you know you’re in for a special treat. Helmed by James Beard Award-winning chef José Andrés, the restaurant offers a vibrant mix of sophisticated cuisine and a playful indoor-outdoor space designed by Philippe Starck.

As part of the Miami Spice promotion, diners can mix and match from an array of special five-course menus. Guests can choose between favorites like salmon roe “Bagels and Lox,” yucca “churros,” Cuban coffee-rubbed churrasco with passion fruit, and lots more. In essence, two guests dining together have the opportunity to experience ten of Andres’ masterful dishes. Our favorites included the chicken croquetas- a bit of Spain in every bite and the Gazpacho Patricia, (named after its creator, who happens to be Andres’ wife); the best we’ve tasted this side of the Atlantic. Not to be missed are the Pisto, the Brussels Sprouts or the Traditional Flan.

Argentine Artist Alejandra Zimmerli Takes Root in Miami

Posted by Mary Jo Almeida-Shore On May - 9 - 2020ADD COMMENTS

It’s no surprise that plants have become more popular than ever and it follows suit that every plant deserves its own special pot. To that end, Miami-based artist, Alejandra Zimmerli, creates beautiful pots in which to display all of your favorite plants and add a bit of colorful flair to a porch, shelf or windowsill.

Born in Argentina Zimmerli comes from an art background, as her Brazilian-German mother used to teach art in primary school, and her Swiss-Ostraicher father would recycle items and art supplies.  When she was two years old, Zimmerli and her parents moved from Argentina to Switzerland where she began drawing and painting. Even she recognizes she had talent way back then!

The family moved back to Argentina when Zimmerli was nine years old. There, she began taking art courses. She finished high school when she was eighteen and moved back to Switzerland by herself. She was the first person to get a scholarship at the “F+F” School for Art and Media Design. Three years later, she returned again to Argentina to study art and media-design. Zimmerli worked from home teaching private art classes to students from as young as four years old, introducing them to their first steps into painting.

Zimmerli then moved to Miami and has been here for over five years. Her planter/garden pots business started when her baby was born, as did her love for plants and gardening. She admits her mother was a “garden freak,” but she never understood why, until now. Zimmerli’s favorite plants are succulents, cacti and sansiverians, especially the new kind that are variegated .

“I started everything white, and then began to add colors to my pots. Some customers helped me by giving me challenges, which is what I love, so I started creating my own cement pottery and, of course, painting them also. I like working like this; it lets me be at home with my loved ones, and I like working outside and enjoying the outdoors with my little one.”

Zimmerli selects what she’s going to paint on her pots depending on her mood. Sometimes it’s just thinking of something she likes. Other times she paints her designs because a customer has requested something specific.

Her popular “Frida (Khalo)” pots started because a customer wanted two and as soon as she finished making them, a few people saw them and had to have them as well. The popular pots are among her best sellers.  She made only small sizes at the beginning, but now she’s creating  bigger sizes at customers’ requests.

“I love all of my pots,” Zimmerli says. “I love the ones I do in concrete.  And I love the ones I paint. They all have something special.”

Zimmerli is happy with her small company. But if requests keep coming in, she is looking forward to the company growing and hiring employees to help prepare the concrete, pour the molds, and sand them. As for the painting, she will keep that lovely task for herself.
