Miami City Ballet’s Annual Gala: Alexei Ratmansky’s The Fairy’s Kiss

Miami City Ballet’s Annual Gala will have the distinction of being the first-ever gala hosted at Miami Beach’s new cultural cornerstone Faena Forum. The exclusive black-tie affair on Saturday, January 28, will showcase Miami City Ballet dancers in an exquisite and never-before-seen setting. Inspired by the world premiere commission of Alexei Ratmansky’s The Fairy’s Kiss, the gala will transform the Rem Koolhaas/OMA designed Faena Forum space into a frozen winter wonderland where guests will experience an evening with cocktails, dinner, dancing and artistic prowess. Four hundred notable Miami, Palm Beach and New York philanthropists, together with community leaders and ballet aficionados, will have an unparalleled opportunity to enjoy the architectural wonders of Faena Forum alongside Miami City Ballet artists and dancers who are seated with table sponsors for dinner. Dancers and guests will mingle and take to the dance floor for an unforgettable party. The gala is co-chaired by Alexa and Adam Wolman, Meghana Rajadhyaksha and Dr. Amar Rajadhyaksha, Tina and Dan Carlo, Susan Kronick and Edward Shumsky, Nancy and Jon Batchelor, Margaret and Mike Eidson, Christy and David Martin, with notable guests including Alan and Ximena Faena. Proceeds from the event will support Miami City Ballet’s work both onstage and in the community, bringing the magic of live performing arts to people from all walks of life. Tables are priced from $25,000 to $100,000 with single seats available for $2,500.  For seating and sponsorship opportunities, contact Eva Silverstein at Eva@miamicityballet.org or 305-929-7000, ext. 1400.

lobsterLuke’s Lobster at Brickell City Center

Luke’s Lobster, is now open in its first location in Miami at Brickell City Center.  Since its founding in 2009, Luke’s Lobster has been hailed as the “best lobster roll” in the country and New York City on numerous occasions by The Wall Street Journal, CBS, Time Out, Thrillist, and many others. The vision of Maine native and one-time lobsterman Luke Holden, Luke’s Lobster is a cozy seafood shack committed to serving simple dishes—including lobster rolls, crab rolls, shrimp rolls, clam chowder, lobster bisque, salads, slaws and more—made with superior ingredients. From ocean to plate, Luke’s handles every step of the supply chain to ensure that only exceptionally fresh seafood is served. Luke’s Lobster takes their mantra of “Taste the Source” to heart. Luke’s Lobster hand picks their lobster directly from the lobstermen at the dock and their sister company, Cape Seafood, immediately cleans and steams it to preserve its freshness and quality. Luke Holden also led the charge to establish the Tenants Harbor Fisherman’s Co-op in Maine, the first fisherman’s co-op to be vertically integrated with a restaurant group and processing company. Every single lobster, crab and shrimp roll served in Luke’s Lobster can be traced back to the exact dock that it came from. The opening of Luke’s Lobster at Brickell City Center is an exciting new chapter in Luke’s Lobster evolution.
