Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour Key To The Cure 

To help raise both money and awareness for women’s cancers, Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour will once again partner with The Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center to host this year’s Key To The Cure, a charity shopping weekend taking place October 17 through October 20. During the shopping weekend, 2% of participating vendor sales from Saks Bal Harbour – up to $500,000 – will be donated to the Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center. Actress Jennifer Aniston has been named the 2013 Entertainment Industry Foundation’s ambassador for Saks Fifth Avenue’s 2013 Key to The Cure campaign.  In support of this program, Ms. Aniston will appear in a national public service announcement (PSA) wearing a limited-edition Key To The Cure T-shirt by celebrated designer Peter Dundas of Emilio Pucci. The T-shirt retails for $35 in Saks stores, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH stores or at www.mountsinaifoundation.org/KeyToTheCure. First Annual MEDDY AwardsMeddy

More than 20,000 walkers and runners will join together for the Susan G. Komen Miami/Ft. Lauderdale 18th Annual Race for the Cure® on Saturday, October 19, starting at 7:30am, at Bayfront Park. The Race will honor breast cancer survivors, support those dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis and raise funds for research to end breast cancer. Hackathon Miami

DWadeThursday night, Dwyane Wade hosted “A Night on the RunWade” at the Moore building to benefit his Wade’s World foundation.  Deco Drive’s Louis Aguirre emceed the event, along with Jill Martin from the Today show.

On Friday, Live! with Kelly and Michael co-host Michael Strahan was spotted at Hyde Beach at SLS Hotel South Beach having a late lunch with his wife and friends. Later that night, Strahan attended an event at the garage at 1111 Lincoln Road for an event co-hosted by LeBron James.

On Saturday, Matt Damon along with a group of 26, comprised of family and friends,  enjoyed a leisurely lunch at La Cote, the Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s outdoor Mediterranean restaurant.

Also on Saturday, former NBA superstar Dennis Rodman was spotted at Hyde Beach at SLS Hotel South Beach sipping Grey Goose vodka cocktails at the outdoor bar with friends. Also there that night was Kim Kardashian’s ex, Kris Humphries, who plays for the Boston Celtics.

This year marks the 6th Annual Halloween Extravaganza charity event benefitting God’s Innocent Angels and their efforts to create awareness and open a center for children affected by this debilitating disorder. This year’s Halloween Extravaganza Royal theme is “AN ENCHANTED EVENING IN THE ROYAL PALACE” and will take place 9:00 p.m. October 12, at a private estate.  The popularity of and exposure given to this yearly event has grown tremendously and as, in years past, will certainly prove to be the event of the season. October is RETT Syndrome month, and the event couldn’t take place at a better time! This year’s event will be more extravagant than last year’s, including libations and food meant for Royal pallets, mesmerizing entertainment for a Kings court and a Kings ransom in prizes. Sweat USA, America’s first All-Star Fitness Festival, is making its debut at the Miami Beach Convention Center this Columbus Day weekend, October 1113.  Sweat USA will provide fitness enthusiasts access to the world’s top health, fitness and nutrition experts, as well as the opportunity to take part in classes hosted by celebrity fitness trainers Jillian Michaels, Tony Horton (P90X) and Shaun T. Wet Willie’s Third Annual Koozies for Boobies Breast Cancer Awareness Party

Wet Willie’s, an award-winning national chain of daiquiri bars and full-service restaurants, will host the Third Annual Koozies for Boobies Breast Cancer Awareness Party on Saturday, October 12 from 8:00 p.m. until closing at the Wet Willie’s location at 760 Ocean Drive on South Beach. This event, held in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, is free and open to the public. During the Koozies for Boobies party, Wet Willie’s will donate 10 percent of all sales to a breast cancer charity. Raffle tickets will be available for $1, offering the chance to win a $100 Wet Willie’s Gift Card. Pink alcoholic and non-alcoholic daiquiris will be available throughout the month of October. Wet Willie’s will host weekend-long celebrations October 11-13 from coast to coast, donating proceeds to charity. All weekend long, Wet Willie’s will distribute pink beads and pink jelly wristbands for a recommended minimum $1 donation.
