friesMcDonald’s Launches Street Art Inspired French Fry Boxes for FIFA World Cup

In conjunction with the FIFA World Cup 2014, McDonald’s has changed the look of its iconic red French fry packaging globally with bold, new artwork to celebrate the upcoming soccer event. In addition, the new fry boxes will be the key to “unlocking” a new app “McDonald’s GOL!” that will reward French fry loving patrons with an engaging, virtual trick-shot challenge. The app will be compatible with most Android and Apple mobile devices and will be available for download in the Google Play store and Apple App Store™.

 

The redesign will treat customers and futbol fans with an exclusive collection of original street art that reflects the beauty and passion of the game of futbol. Twelve artists from around the world were chosen to create the special new designs, which will canvas McDonald’s Medium and Large fry boxes in the majority of company-owned and franchised restaurants worldwide. As part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2012, the German luxury car maker will be chauffeuring its own version of the “fashion police” all throughout Miami in a wrapped Mercedes-Benz, dubbed the “Fashion Force.” The select group of fashion-savvy specialists will be patrolling neighborhoods of their choice, scouting for the fashion forward.  If you are ‘pulled over’ by the style authorities for looking good, you will be shot (by a camera) and rewarded with a limited edition pair of Havaianas!

SOHO Beach House, in conjunction with Miami Swimwear, hosts the launch of Style Saves, Inc., a non-profit charity founded by fashion stylist Rachael Russell with The Miami Foundation, on Friday, July 15. The intimate fashion event will feature a trendsetting fashion show held on the ground level of SOHO Beach House in the Tiki Bar and is set to begin with cocktails at 8:00 p.m. The premiere fashion show will kick-off with men’s swimwear designer Papi Underwear, followed by Trina Turk Swimwear, with jewelry by B.Rawlings, and the grand finale will be presented by Neiman Marcus, Bal Harbour, with styling by the host herself, Rachael Russell. A private reception will be held following the fashion show on the 8th floor club pool deck of SOHO Beach House where luxury goods and services will be silently auctioned. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit Style Saves’ students. Tickets are selling for $50 in advance, and $75 at the door, this includes entry into the main fashion event, and the private reception afterwards. Tickets for the private reception are available for $30. Georges Duboeuf, the winery well-known for its artistic labels, a new one of which is debuted every year with much fanfare, celebrated the official release of the 2009 Beaujolais Nouveau at Au Pied Du Cochon on November 19th in conjunction with the launch of a food drive to benefit Feeding South Florida (formerly Daily Bread Food Bank). Duboeuf winemaker, Stéphane Queralt arrived with the first case of Beaujolais Nouveau in a vintage Volkswagen “Love Bus” accompanied by a busload of hippies and chefs on motorcycles. Biker chefs included: Sean Bernal, Oceanaire Seafood Room; Sean Brasel and Mickey Deshane, Meat Market; Stéphane Hainaut, Barton G the Restaurant; Carla and Luis Lopez Soyka; Bruno Macazaga, Villagrande Club at Porto Vita; Kieran Masek, ONE Group-STK; Gerdy Rodriguez, MIA at Biscayne. The Hippie-Chic arrival was celebrated with a lavish lunch and, of course, lots of wine.
