Culinary personality, restaurateur and New York Times best-selling author, Fabio Viviani returns to participate in the Orange Bowl Impact and Excellence Awards (The OBIES): A Taste of South Florida presented by Florida Blue as this year’s Celebrity Chef. The event takes place on Friday, May 29 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center at 7:30 p.m. The OBIES: A Taste of South Florida presented by Florida Blue features a night of extraordinary food, entertainment and giving as the Orange Bowl Committee celebrates those who share organization’s values in giving back to the South Florida community. Many of the area’s top culinary chefs and restaurants will serve their best bites for the chance to be named Flavor of South Florida. A group of graduating high school senior student athletes from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties will receive scholarships and one outstanding South Florida resident will be honored with the 2015 Keith Tribble Community Service Excellence Award for the work he or she does to make a difference. Feel the Force at the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science

Warning! You are now entering the danger zone! On Saturday, May 30, just before the start of hurricane season, the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science will reveal to visitors the science behind hurricanes and other powerful weather hazards at a free event, “Feel the Force: Hurricanes and Other Hazards.” On Saturday, families can enjoy a ton of free activities.

Fresh American Bistro Barbeque Benefits  Surfers Healing Foundation

On Saturday, May 30, Fresh American Bistro announces its official kick-off to summer with a beach party and poolside barbeque. The evening’s menu, curated by Fresh American Bistro’s Executive Chef Philippe Ruiz, will include the chef’s famous pork and beef sliders, along with spicy sausages and chicken kabobs. The evening will include live music by The Rhythmatics, Rythmation Band and Monsieur Zon Zon. Champagne will be provided by Nicolas Feuillatte along with a chance to enter-to-win a surfboard signed by roster of pro-surfers. All of the evening’s proceeds will go to benefit the Surfers Healing Foundation, an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of people living with autism by exposing them to the unique experience of surfing. Siena Tavern Teams Up with Lauren’s Kids

sienaSiena Tavern, one of Miami Beach’s newest hotspots, is excited to announce its recent partnership with South Florida-based non-profit organization Lauren’s Kids for the entire month of April—Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Siena Tavern has generously offered to give 20 percent of the recently launched Gelato-To-Go proceeds to Lauren’s Kids, whose mission is to prevent sexual abuse through education and awareness, and help survivors heal with guidance and support.

Gelato-To-Go is a new option for Siena Tavern “sweet-treat” lovers. Instead of dining in and waiting for dessert, you can pick up some fresh gelato and eat it in the comfort of your home. Available by the pint, for $10, customers can take home any flavor on the menu, including: vanilla bean, double chocolate, salted caramel, hazelnut, pistachio and crème brulee.

Siena Tavern Miami Chef Fabio Viviani and co-owners David Rekhson and Luke Stoiff welcomed actor Diego Boneta to the restaurant, where he celebrated his return to music and onscreen with the premiere of his new song Warrior–which will be the theme song for his upcoming mini-series Dovekeepers set to air on CBS this April. The group enjoyed the intimate SOBEWFF Tuscan Trio Dinner hosted by Viviani, Debi Mazar and Gabriele Corcos.

World champion boxer and actor Lennox Lewis was at the Forge on Tuesday with his wife and a group of friends.

Ken Lowe, head honcho of the Food Network, had dinner at the Forge last Thursday night with a group of twelve. Taking place simultaneously, an ultra-exclusive Chateau Lagrezette Malbec four course Wine Dinner by Chef Christopher Lee.  The dinner was presented by Haute Living magazine and hosted by Alain Dominique Perrin, owner of Chateau Lagrezette, Forge owner, Shareef Malnik and Kamal Hotchandani, CEO of Haute Living.  Special guests included Scottie Pippen, Gabrielle Anwar, and Wayne Chapin.

Joe Jonas was spotted at the SLS South Beach. He spent a couple of nights relaxing at the hotel before heading to New York Fashion Week.

In light of a recent partnership with The Miami HEAT, CGI Merchant Group was honored to announce the attendance of NBA champions Udonis Haslem and Mario Chalmers for the 55 Miracle Mile ribbon-cutting ceremony.
