Edge, Steak and Bar

Edge, Steak and Bar, at the Four Seasons Miami, is Brickell’s hottest new steakhouse, featuring the freshest seafood, paired with delectable sauces and steaks cooked to perfection.  Chefs Aaron Brooks and James King’s dinner menu showcases expertly prepared Creekstone Farm meats charbroiled at 1800 degrees in an infrared grill after being rubbed down with Edge’s signature “Cutting Edge Rub”. Tantalizing seafood fresh from local waters and sides made with the best farm-fresh ingredients round out the dinner menu.  Don’t miss the basil crusted corvina, the lobster corn chowder or the bone-in Tomahawk steak- worthy of Fred Flintstone.

Diners can enjoy the expansive dining room, sit at the stylish bar or lounge in the gorgeous outdoor terrace, overlooking Miami. The terrace provides a convivial gathering place to enjoy Edge’s cuisine and hand-crafted cocktails, while overlooking the stunning views of glistening Biscayne Bay and the hotel’s two-acre pool deck. Just as it did with Edge’s chic, modern interiors, James Beard Award-winning design firm, AvroKo created an outdoor “living room” that provides guests with a casual, yet intimate, retreat and varied seating options.

Diners in a rush can make the most of Edge’s new Lunch Break specials which include an appetizer, entrée, side and non-alcoholic beverage served within 19 minutes or less for only $19 per person, available Monday – Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The lunch selections alternate daily, and are posted on Twitter (@EdgeMiami) and Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/EdgeMiami).  There are also great happy hour specials.

Mesa

Two words:  Chocalate Soup! Yes, you read that correctly. Put it on your list of “musts,” “bucket list” whatever it is you call things that you can’t leave this earth before experiencing.  Then, fast for a week and head to Mesa, located in Coral Gables, where adorable chef, Elida Villaroel will serve you a bowl of this triumphant chocolate glory. We aren’t sure exactly why her soup hasn’t been featured on the Best Thing I Ever Ate, but we are looking into it.

Mesa’s menu is truly Chef Elida’s culinary imagination on paper, with creations that bring together all the elements of her Venezuelan background, served in an eclectically modern and intimate setting. Each dish, consisting mainly of organic and locally sourced ingredients, is like a culinary roller coaster of vibrant flavors. Don’t miss the tequenos, hot little cheesy bits of heaven, or the risotto. And don’t forget to save room for a bowl of that large bowl of thick dark chocolate perfection.

An evolution of predecessor Charlotte Bistro, the French restaurant which formerly occupied the Mesa space, which was also run by Chef Elida, Mesa’s menu still features a number of its most popular items. Mesa’s 1,800 square foot space features a newly revamped décor with surrealist murals that are a perfect complement to the whimsically executed dishes.

Chef Elida has a long reputation of preparing savory meals and food with wholehearted feeling. With Mesa, she hopes to build long-lasting and meaningful memories by embracing guests as family and setting before them dishes that personify her love for great food.

Josh’s Delicatessen & Appetizing

We are sticklers for our Ruben sandwiches- call us “Ruben snobs” if you will, but we found sheer sandwich joy at Josh’s Delicatessen & Appetizing-a no-frills deli, which serves up the most delicious, Ruben sandwich this side of New York City.  We’re talking 14-day aged, cured brisket (which then becomes corned beef) on a perfectly buttered rye toast with all the trimmings.  Serving up classic– and not-so-classic-dishes – from smoked whitefish salad to latkes, pastrami, cured salmon – and everything in between, Josh’s has something for everyone. Open from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. – guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Surfside’s only true Jewish-style deli.

Delivery is available upon request, so customers can enjoy great food straight from the kitchen to their front doors.
